Microneedling with PRP/PRF is an advanced technique that triggers collagen production and helps you feel younger again!

The results of microneedling can often be further enhanced when combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP/PRF). When used in conjunction with microneedling, PRP/PRF has been shown to accelerate tissue healing and reduce acne scarring and pigmentation. The PRP/PRF treatment involves isolating platelets from the patient’s blood using a centrifuge. Since the blood comes directly from the patient, the body’s chances of rejecting the plasma or having an allergic reaction are minimal. By separating the blood into three layers, the PRP/PRF can be used during the microneedling process. PRP/PRF contains proteins and growth factors that promote cell migration and produce collagen and elastin.

Patients will notice a youthful glow and tightening of their skin immediately after microneedling with PRP/PRF, however, we usually recommend 3 treatments every 4 weeks for optimal results, to ensure collagen production and to maximize skin rejuvenation.

What is Microneedling?

A microneedling is a skin treatment technique involving an electric needle device. These needles are so tiny; they are barely visible to the naked eye! Microneedling procedures use it to improve blood flow and reduce scarring.

What is a PRP with Microneedling?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Microneedling involves taking blood from the patient’s arm and preparing it for microneedling. The blood will then be spun inside a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red and white blood cells.

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling is a popular cosmetic procedure that has been proven to help heal the skin and make you look younger. Sterilized needles prevent infection, and tiny wounds stimulate your body to produce collagen, which smooths out wrinkles as it heals.

What does PRP Microneedling Do?

As part of PRP Microneedling, tiny piercings are created in the skin using fine, sterile needles. This allows the platelet-rich plasma to penetrate deeper into the skin. As a result of this process, collagen and elastin levels are increased in the skin, leaving patients with a smoother, more full-looking face.

What can I expect after a skin needling procedure?

Microneedling can cause the skin to have a red and flushed appearance, similar to mild sunburns or hives. Minor swelling may occur 24-72 hours after this procedure, depending on how deeply the needle was inserted into the dermis. Clients may also notice pinpoint bleeding, peeling, and dry patches after this procedure.

Is there any downtime after a Microneedling treatment?

Usually, skin inflammation is very temporary, and it subsides within a few hours. After treatment, your skin may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours; however, sunscreen can protect your skin from damage while it heals!

How soon will I see results after a Microneedling procedure?

In a few days, you’ll see a significant improvement in your skin’s tone. Usually, the best results are seen about 2-4 weeks after starting and continue improving for up to 3 months!

What will my skin look like after my PRP with Microneedling treatment?

Some patients are concerned about the appearance of blood on the skin’s surface after PRP microneedling. However, the face is not actually bleeding. The outward appearance of blood is merely a side effect of the procedure, and it is not to be concerned about.

How many Microneedling treatments will I need?

Usually, a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart is ideal for most people. Deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, or acne scars may require 6 – 8 sessions to see the best improvement in their skin!
