The words “chemical” and “peel” probably do not come to mind as something you would want to have done to your face. Despite sounding scary medical grade chemical peels can offer a range of skin health and cosmetic benefits. The beauty of chemical peels is their versatility. A quality chemical peel can improve skin texture and tone, treat chronic skin conditions, and even offer anti-aging benefits. They are important in maintaining the health of your skin and are one of the most effective facial treatments available. They remove damaged and aging skin from the surface to reveal smoother more youthful skin.

At the Beauty Lounge, we have 5 different medical grade peels from AlumierMD. These are solutions that are applied to the skin to help stimulate collagen production, minimize fine wrinkles and pores and brighten your complexion. The treatments are called “PEELS” but may not always make your skin peel, depending on the strength and layers of peel applied.

During your appointment, the Aesthetician will help you decide which peel would be the most beneficial for your skin goals.

What are Chemical Peels?

How do peels work?

Who would benefit from a Chemical Peel?

All types of skin can benefit from chemical peels. Generally, however, chemical peels do best on fair, thin skin.

Do Peels hurt?

Our light peels may cause mild spiciness (tingling/stinging) as the molecules activate in the top layer of skin, but the solution is neutralized after a few minutes and any tingling will resolve. The advanced peels can be a little more spicy along with some heat.

When will I see the results?

Once your skin has finished healing, you will see the results, whether you peel or not.

Where it asks about downtime?

You may have some redness for 1-2 days and mild to significant peeling days after depending on the peel choice.

How do I choose the right peel for me?

The experienced Aestheticians at the Beauty Lounge will examine and recommend the right peel depending on your prior peel experience and specific skincare needs.
